Description
Produced in the final two months of the 1976 model year, this rare Sondermodell has had just two owners and recently emerged from over 30 years in a private collection. Originally delivered in Munich, Germany, it remained there until its import to Louisiana in 1986. In 1993, the previous owner acquired the car and relocated it to Florida, where it was meticulously cared for by Porsche racing expert David Glenn.
A renowned figure in the Porsche Racing community, David Glenn has been involved with the brand since 1972, working with top teams such as Brumos, Rohr Racing, Kelly Moss Racing, and Champion Racing. From 1999 to 2011, he provided trackside and technical support for Porsche Motorsport NA, and from 1985 to 1990, he built engines at RUF Automobile, including all 20 for the legendary RUF Yellowbird.
This Sondermodell received a professional repaint in 1993, followed by an engine and transmission rebuild in 2004 at 115,517 km. In 2019, the interior was fully restored using materials from Lakewell. Since then, the car has undergone extensive maintenance, including OEM front and rear shock installation, Fuchs wheel restoration with new tires, a refreshed brake system, new front sway bar and A-arm bushings, leak-down and compression tests, valve clearance adjustment, and a complete fluid replacement and inspection.
